Description: The origin of the Kaveri: Ganesha transforms himself into a crow and topples Agastya’s kumbha (pitcher), out of which flows the river Kaveri. In the foreground: a small boy, Agastya raising his clenched fists to his head, and Ganesha. Barely visible are the various Shaiva shrines along the course of the river.
