Ladies
Historical background
The numerous depictions of ladies, queens, attendants, fan-. fly whisk-, arm-bearers, not to speak of the heavenly apsaras and other divine beauties were a source of great inspiration for the artists.

Date: mid-17th century
Description: A queen, seated with her child on her lap, and attendants. She may be Adi Manu’s wife, Satarupa. The same child, somewhat grown is walking and crawling.

Description: A king in a building, the queen (?) stands outside before him with a fly whisk in her hand; On the left, a dignitary pays homage to Minakshi and Sundareshvara (previous slide).

Description: A queen, a child, and an attendant in a building. On the right, a further attendant stands on the threshold giving something to the queen, who extends her hand. On the extreme right, a soldier.

Description: A couple eating in a building; Outside, a tall dancing bard carries in his hands a tray of food and a string instrument; The next scene shows a lady in a building filled with pots.

Description: Disappeared. Probably this scene depicted the hunters and the Shaiva mendicant approaching the paran (platform) where Valli and her companion
